Blurred Lines
Fashion Publication
Summary
Blurred Lines is a print publication exploring hyperreal beauty in fashion, where AI-generated visuals blend with real photography to blur the line between reality and fabrication. Featuring 3D anaglyph glasses, readers experience double-colour exposure illusions that reveal different layers of reality, culminating in a reflective journey that questions how images shape perceptions of truth in a visually driven culture.
Challenge
To convey hyperreality in print and create an immersive, interactive experience that competes with digital media while maintaining clarity and aesthetic cohesion.
Creative Focus
After photographing models, I layered the images with AI-manipulated visuals featuring double-colour exposure effects, using digital and risograph techniques, and finished the project as a hand-bound, multi-layered publication.
Results
The publication delivered an engaging, reflective experience that challenged print conventions, encouraged critical thought on fashion imagery, and showcased experimental design, earning a nomination for the Terry Mansfield Fashion Publication Award.
